Quickmark – Another Useless Application? NO!

After reading this post please read the comments too because there’s some powerful information there. Thanks

Today I got a weird comment on one of my posts and some person (or something like that) told me to try Quickmark – a barcode reader…

I knew that it’s a spam message and I deleted the link he gave with his name (you can’t fool me 🙂 ), but I still gave it a chance and tried the application. A total dissapointment. First of all it doesn’t work 😐 at least not with my N73…second: why would I need another barcode reader and who uses the barcode reader anyway? Doesn’t matter…

Please if some of you readers would try and have a different opinion on this software, please tell me and I’ll apologize, but until then, I keep my opinion that this application is a waste of time.

If you want to try the application, you can find it here

GenialSIS – Signing Your Application Made Easy

shapeimage_2.pngAs long as you already have a Symbian Signed account, you can continue signing your applications the way you did until now, but if you don’t, here’s a way to sign applications on the Symbian Signed site without requiring a non-public e-mail address…

The software is called GenialSIS

You can read more here.

Find a tutorial here.

Very very detailed tutorial here 🙂 (good job Symbian Web Blog…thanks)

S60 Ticker

Another application which cannot be called a must have but it is worth a try. Why? Because it is freeee.

So here are the features:

  • A ticker which can be placed wherever you want it on your screen
  • Ability to show ticker only on standby screen or everywhere
  • It automatically adjusts its color to the theme you are using (pretty nice feature by the way…)
  • You can write any text you want and this text will appear and jog on the screen when you don’t have new SMS or any notification
  • Ability to change the font, size, duration and placement on the screen
  • A clock…if you need any.

I don’t use the extra clock because I only use this application on the standby screen and I already have one clock there.

You can download the latest version (0.10.2) from here.

GDesk – A New Way To Make Your Desktop Unique

gw371h393.jpgToday I tried this software and it seemed pretty interesting to me because I really like it when something is customizable and the one thing we can say about GDesk is that it’s one of the most customizable applications ever.

GDesk is a customizable and expendable desktop system. Icons can be placed on the desktop representing applications, page links and plug-ins; these can then be launched by tapping them.
Plug-ins can be added at any time and as required; further plug-in functionality will be provided over time.

You can find out more about this software here

Or download it from here

On the left hand side of this site you will be able to find everything you need to know about this software.

Please do not install it if you don’t have experience with Symbian devices because it can mess up your phone and you will have to reinstall the whole OS again.

Tell me if you have any problems and I’ll help you. If you’re not sure about something just ask before you try. this way you will avoid messing up your phone…

MobiTubia – Since emTube Doesn’t Work

emTube used to be the only software that could help you play .flv files like the ones on Youtube but since MobiTubia appeared and emTube still says that their site is under construction…things have changed. I hope that emTube will wake up and come back into the picture again and since it is the first software of this kind ever made it would be a shame not to come back. I think they’re working on making youtube available again since it has changed the way it works now…

Until then try MobiTubia.

mobitubia_slogan.gif

It is a nice application that allows you,to play .flv files and watch youtube videos wherever you are. If you are online you can watch videos and if you’re offline, you can watch your saved clips or any .flv file you want to watch.

Visit the site and download the software here

This is a free software so if you’re asked to pay for it DON’T!

rotateMe v. 1.5 Released

rotateme_logo.png

The well known rotateMe software got an update and it’s better then the previous version. It has a few bugs though but I’m not sure if it’s because I didn’t restart the phone after installation or there’s some other reason but after a restart it works just fine.

A new thing is the ability to set the rotateMe to autostart and make it a hidden application (it won’t appear in the task manager) but other features were added like the priority, which can be set as normal or high making the software work faster if it is set on high(this is mostly for those of you who actually use this software a lot and have to switch between landscape and portrait mode often)
